Continuing their pattern of bold design language and massive reveals, Ferrari has just unveiled the convertible counterpart to the 812 Superfast: the 812 GTS. The 789 horsepower, V12 monster, now comes with an option to dry your hair too.
As for the hardtop roof, it’s electronically retracted or closed down in 14 seconds while you comfortably meander along at 28 miles per hour. Once the roof is latched, however, you are wholly in control of all 6.5 liters of raging Italian horse. From a dig, the 812 GTS will reach 62 miles per hour in a hair under three seconds. Keeping your foot welded to the floor, the 530-pound feet of torque will hurtle you to 124 miles per hour in 8.3 seconds. For reference, that’s less than a second longer than it takes for a 2019 Toyota Camry to reach 60 miles per hour.
The cherry on top of this stirring Italian dessert is the ever-more-intelligent seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. This new system not only analyzes road surfaces but will learn the tracks you frequent and make gear changes even sharper. When you finally get out of the car, you can admire whichever forged wheel package you selected: diamond, liquid silver, or Grigio Scuro. Ferrari has kept the release date close to their chests, so check back soon for more information on that. In the meantime, take a look at Ferrari’s video showcase of the new steed below:
